DIY recipe: Bug spray

The summer months are quickly approaching and that means a lot of us will be spending our time outside. While that’s amazing, we don’t always enjoy the annoyance that bugs tend to bring to our outdoor shenanigans. Interested in an easy, effective, all-natural bug spray that you can take with you anywhere this summer? Here it is!

What you need:

2 oz amber spray bottle (easily found on Amazon)

1 T Unscented witch hazel

10 drops Eucalyptus

10 drops Lemongrass

10 drops Lavender

10 drops Citronella

Combine ingredients in bottle, fill with water and shake!

This recipe can also be made into a roller ball. Just switch witch hazel and water with a carrier oil such as FCO, olive oil, almond oil, etc. Add oils to roller, fill with carrier oil of your choice. Apply to wrists, ankles, neck to repel bugs!

Extra tip: Take your diffuser outside this summer! Diffuse these oils to create a “bug off” setting at your outdoor hangout spot!
